About The Event

Location: Ballycroy Visitor Centre, Ballycroy F28 RX77

Join us at Ballycroy Visitor Centre on Friday 30 October at 8:30pm for the first Dark Sky Walk of the 2026/27 winter season. This free walk forms part of Mayo Dark Sky Festival’s opening evening and launches a series of weekly winter walks.

Enjoy the landscape after dark, with opportunities to pause for stargazing as conditions allow. The walk lasts approximately one hour.

Everyone is welcome to join the walk, whether or not you are attending the separate, ticketed official opening at 7pm. No opening event ticket is needed.

Walks take place in most conditions, but may be cancelled due to weather warnings, heavy rain or hazardous road conditions. Please dress warmly and wear suitable outdoor footwear.
