Anna Levin
Anna Levin is an author, journalist, wildlife-watcher and star-gazer with a special interest in people’s connections to the natural world. Her new book ‘Dark Skies’ celebrates the importance of the starry sky and the experience of darkness. One of her previous books Incandescent: we need to talk about light highlights concerns about the impact of light pollution on the wider environment and on human health and wellbeing. A former section editor with BBC Wildlife Magazine, she writes and edits for a wide range of publications and environmental organisations. She is especially drawn to the places where words and pictures meet and often works in collaboration with photographers. She is a caption writer for the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Anna is a warm and engaging workshop facilitator, and currently runs regular creative writing workshops for the Scottish charity Open Book.
